How to update your Plextor SSD using a firmware bootdisk

 

  • 1. Burn the ISO file using Imgburn or any other burning software. Imgburn can be downloaded here: http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_2.5.5.0.exe
  • 2. Before upgrading your firmware, please check the following in your system BIOS.
  • Ensure that your Plextor SSD is detected in the system BIOS

 

 

  • Configure your SATA controller to AHCI mode.

 

 

  • Change your boot sequence to boot from your CD drive first.

 

  • Be sure to exit and save your configuration changes.

 

  • 3. Insert the update disk and at the boot prompt, hit the ENTER key on your keyboard.

 

(If the you do not press ENTER within 15 seconds, the computer will proceed to boot from harddrive)

 

  • 4. The firmware upgrade will process automatically. You will see the following information on your screen. Please do not power off the PC at this time.

 

 

 

  • 5. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, you will see the following message on the screen. You can reboot your PC. Make sure to change your BIOS settings back to your previous configuration if necessary.
