Sorry if this question has been asked already, but when will the PX-LB950SA drive be available on the market?

So I ended up getting the PX-LB950SA Blu-ray drive and have had it for quite some time now.

I decided to update the firmware on it but when I try to using the PX-LB950SA_106.EXE firmware updater that I downloaded from the Support section, I get the following error:

"Unable to flash firmware. Please contact with your vendor!
0-0-0-0 PLEXTOR BD-R PX-LB950SA 1.01"

Instead of downloading the update file directly, try to run the Plexutilities program and then run a check for firmware updates. The PlexUtilities will get the right update for the drive. If you notice there are two different folders in the download section for PX-LB950SA. One has " manufactured after June 2011" on it, so there are two revisions possible on the firmware, the Plexutilities will be able to get the right one.

I had previously tried to use PlexUtilities to update the firmware on my drive when I had initially purchased it. But the program didn't recognize it at all.

That's why when I checked the other day and found the direct firmware updater I decided to give it another try. At least it recognizes my drive unlike the PlexUtilities which doesn't at all.

If you check in the device manager, what exactly is the drive being called? That can be why PlexUtilities is not seeing the drive, or why the firmware isn't able to update.

Also, have you tried the other firmware update? Its 1.03 and is for drives manufactured after June 2011, you can try that HERE.
