What is Qflix™?
The Qflix-enabled Plextor drives make it easy for consumers to download and burn their favorite movies and TV titles directly to a DVD for immediate viewing. Sonic Solutions, which acquired Roxio in 2004, joined forces with Pioneer in October 2007 to create a legal, recordable DVD standard known as Qflix. Qflix technology allows consumers to download and burn copyright-protected movies from Cinemanow, the service’s only content provider. The Roxio® Venue, bundled with the Qflix-enabled Plextor drive, allows user to connect directly to Cinemanow and view all Qflix-enabled titles.
Burning a Qflix-enabled DVD is easy. Simply select your favorite movies from Cinemanow, insert Qflix DVD media into Qflix-enabled Plextor drive, and “click” to copy and create your own personal entertainment library. You now have a permanent DVD backup and can watch it with family & friends anytime, anywhere.
Note: The CinemaNow library for burnable downloads currently consists of approximately 100 Qflix titles and is expected to grow to thousands by year’s end.
